SENER works hand in hand with the Little Lungs Foundation

13/12/2011

Next Saturday December 17th the Little Lungs Foundation will present its Christmas concert featuring Handel's Messiah performed by the Trinity College of Music Choir and the Orquesta Arcángelo in Madrid's National Music Auditorium (Chamber Hall) at 7:30 PM. Conducted by Jonathan Coen, the concert's aim will be to raise consciousness about the Little Lungs Foundation in order to celebrate “Rare Disease Awareness Year”, which SEPAR has announced for 2012.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility work, SENER, along with other companies, is one of the collaborators in this initiative which seeks to raise public awareness about the social, health and job-related problems caused by pediatric respiratory ailments, with a special focus on lesser-known diseases.

Tickets for the concert are available from Servicaixa, the National Auditorium box office, INAEM Theaters, or by sending an e-mail to: informacion@pequenospulmones.org.

Corporate Social Responsibility at SENER

SENER is a company dedicated to its employees, the public and the environment, which means it acts responsibly in all its work and initiatives.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, the company participates in several organizations and foundations, such as the volunteer work performed by SENER employees with the Development and Assistance Foundation; sponsoring the annual paddle ball charity tournament organized by the Pablo Hortsmann Foundation; collaborating each year with the Red Cross in its Christmas Toy Collection Campaign; working together with the Food Bank; and participating in the Beyond a Face exhibition organized by the Madrid Down Syndrome Foundation, all of which illustrate SENER's commitment to those who are underprivileged or at risk of being socially excluded.

In addition to these projects, there is also the SENER Foundation. Created in 2003, the Foundation promotes activities focused on community service which encourage engineering careers among youngsters who display outstanding academic skills, as well as skills in initiative, scientific and technological competition and ethical responsibility. The Foundation sponsors a Ph.D. and a Master's program in a prestigious Spanish, European or North American university and then provides scholarship winners with the opportunity to work as a professional at SENER during the academic program's duration. It also finances engineering projects that help improve underdeveloped regions and disadvantaged groups.
